The Japanese have always taken their trains seriously. And they have always had fun with the design of them. They have produced a number of bizarre and interesting designs over the years. Perhaps the most bizarre and interesting looking design of all is the Nankai 50000. I would assume that this design was influenced by the world of Jules Verne. It's quite obvious that they were going for a retro-modern look when designing this train. This train only runs in the Kansai region of Japan. That is the area surrounding Osaka which is Japan's third-largest city after Yokahama.

You can even find some plastic model kits of this train. Notice that this model also includes detail of the seats.

Here is an exquisite model of this train in N scale. Notice the increadible detail of the train platform.

Another image of this lovely train model.

Some more information about this train, it was introduced in 1994 in order to serve the Kansai International airport.
